Film company donates 5% of opening week box office revenue

Summary

As part of the 2007 nationwide film release of sex-trafficking drama, Trade, Roadside Attractions film company announced it would donate 5 per cent of the opening week box-office revenue, divided between UNODC and other organisations participating in the release of the film.

Taking place at the UN headquarters in New York, the premiere and following gala dinner, organised by the film’s distributor Roadside Attractions, was held to support the work of UNODC and the international human rights organization Equality Now.

The film, directed by Marco Kreuzpaintner and starring Academy Award winner Kevin Kline, tells the story of 13-year-old Adriana who is kidnapped and trafficked for sexual exploitation and her older brother’s efforts to rescue her.
