UNESCO and partners facilitate cultural policies in Africa

OCPA, the Observatory of Cultural Policies in Africa, is an independent pan-African non-governmental organisation set up in partnership between UNESCO, Ford Foundation, Organization of African unity, Culturelink, ENCATC and Agency of International Corporation for Development.

OCPA aims to enhance the development of national cultural policies in the region and their integration in human development strategies through advocacy and promoting information exchange, research, capacity building and cooperation at the regional and international level.

OCPA has developed, in cooperation with UNESCO and ENCATC, a regional directory of African training centres and institutions existing throughout the continent in the field of cultural policy, administration and management.
