Partnerships stimulate direct mail market growth

Summary

Launched in 1996, the Universal Postal Union (UPU) Direct Mail Markets Development Programme promotes public/private partnerships to stimulate direct mail market growth around the world.

The programme aims to create new opportunities in direct mail for mail-users and postal companies/administrators and to enhance growth prospects.

This is done through fostering education, addressing the quality of service and encouraging closer relationship between UPU groups as well as between DM-related organizations. UPU has conducted workshops in Brazil, Hong Kong, Russia and South Africa. These workshops examine the current situation, define the opportunities available and help develop a local action plan according to available resources and opportunities.
