UNICEF's corporate partnerships: Greece - Diners Club


Diners Club Greece, a subsidiary of Citibank, has issued in cooperation with the Hellenic National Committee an affinity card under the name of Diners Club-UNICEF. There are currently over 84,000 account holders in this program.

Since the launch of this partnership in October 2003, as one of the most successful campaigns globally, the Diners Club-UNICEF affinity card has raised more than 1 million Euros.

Diners Club provides UNICEF with a 0.5% of the total amount spent by each card holder, without the card holder bearing any cost.

In addition to the obvious financial benefit to UNICEF, there are also a number of advantages to this program such as:

  • The facility of promoting UNICEF Cards & Gifts to card holders through informational leaflets inserted in statements
  • The sponsorship of UNICEF Greece’s annual holiday direct marketing campaign
  • Encouraging card holders to participate in UNICEF’s pledge program
  • The distribution and sales of UNICEF Hellenic National Committee notebooks and cards through Citibank branches
