The Green Commodities Facility

  • Overview

The Facility is looking for major market players who have a long-term commitment to scaling up the sustainable sourcing of commodities and recognize the need to move beyond certification to work with governments to create national support systems and scale up support to farmers. Key commodities for support include: beef, cocoa, coffee, cotton, palm oil, pineapple, rice, sugar and timber. Partnerships between the Green Commodities Facility and strategically committed brands, retailers and traders can transform the national policies and practices of commodity production.

Opportunities for involvement with the Facility include:

    • Participate in the Facility’s global Advisory Body to identify market/corporate commodity and country priorities.
    • Invest in and participate in national platforms and projects and request suppliers to do the same.
    • Purchase agreements for sustainable commodities once available.
