    Vision / description

    To promote village economy and sustainable development with a social business by promoting organic, sustainable and natural methods of agriculture/farming among small and marginal hill farmers in the central Himalayan regions of Uttarakhand, India.

    We seek advocacy and promotion of local crops of the Kumoan region. We believe this project would be most relevant for IFAD, FAO and UNDP in the pursuit of eradicating rural poverty and defeating hunger. We hope to receive mentorship, access to networks and guidance on standards, as well as assistance from UNDP in partnering with any current agricultural development activities in the central Himalayan regions, namely Uttarakhand.

    Project objectives

    1. Promote farming as a livelihood among small and marginal farmers.
    a. Include women farmers into the trust as members.
    b. Fertile the barren and abandoned agricultural land.
    c. Increase agricultural productivity in the hills.

    2. Increase in farm income.
    a. Market indigenous crops into the cities as organic and health foods.
    b. Provide Fair Price for the crop to the farmers.
    c. Pay crop premium to the trust as communal funds.

    3. Village community group and development.
    a. Village/community need assessment and problem discussion programs in the villages.
    b. Development Projects in the villages according to the need of the community.
    c. Workshops on sustainable development in the villages.

    4. Off-farm job generation.
    a. Number of direct jobs generated.
    b. Number of indirect jobs generated.
    c. Skills imparted to the people.


    Local Kumauni community are the direct beneficiaries of this project.
