The purpose of this project is to reduce the propensity of the youth who engage in high-risk behaviors. This will be done by supporting and facilitating the youth to engage in productive activities.Project objectives
To reduce youth involvement in high-risk behaviours.
To reduce youth involvement in unproductive activities.
To build the capacity of the youth to refuse engagement with crime and high-risk behaviours.
To improve the living conditions of the youth through equipping them with knowledge and skills of starting up and managing small scale income generating businesses and supporting them with seed money to start and get involved in sustainable income generating activities.
To equip the youth with knowledge and skills in running kiosks selling fast moving foods, marketing, savings and, basic accounting and record keeping.
To initiate mechanisms for dialogue between youth and their leaders; so as to involve the youth in development processes.

We hope to partner with a variety of UN Agencies, including UNICEF, SDG Fund, UNCDF, UNAIDS, UNF, UNOPS and WSSCC.Beneficiaries
(i) Direct Beneficiaries
The main, direct beneficiaries of this project are the 2 youths from each of the 26 villages that make up Kirinya parish (Bombay, Bukasa A, Bukasa B, Bukasa C, Kikonko, Kito A, Kito B, Kito C, Kito D, Kito E, Kito F, Kito G, Kito H, Kito I, Kito J, Masozi, Namataba A, Namataba B, Namataba C, Namataba D, Namataba E, Namataba F, Namataba G, Namataba H, Namataba I and, Namataba J) particularly school dropout youth and unemployed youth. The focus is placed on youth because the long-term strength and sustainability of economic growth, livelihood improvement and stability in homes and communities depends on the youth.
(ii) Indirect Beneficiaries:
Because this project will result in reduction in youth delinquency and engagement in crime, the indirect beneficiaries of the project are all the people in the communities where the targeted youth will come from, i.e. the 26 target villages that make up Kirinya parish (Bombay, Bukasa A, Bukasa B, Bukasa C, Kikonko, Kito A, Kito B, Kito C, Kito D, Kito E, Kito F, Kito G, Kito H, Kito I, Kito J, Masozi, Namataba A, Namataba B, Namataba C, Namataba D, Namataba E, Namataba F, Namataba G, Namataba H, Namataba I and, Namataba J) by creating opportunities for the youth to engage activities that make them busy and reducing their idleness, delinquency and engagement in risky behaviours.

Improvement in the livelihoods of youth
An increase in the number of micro and small private sector businesses, and especially those owned by youth
An increase in the number of micro and small private sector businesses owned by women since some of the youth who will be supported will be women/girls
An increase in average income per capita among the youth population
An increased number of female youth able to lift themselves out of poverty since some of the youth to be supported will be female
Increased productivity by and among the youth
Youth ability to engage as positive and productive members of their communities and/or societies enhanced.
